I'm not that familiar with Krieghoffs and was wondering if Krieghoffs, when purchased new, have matching serial numbers on barrel and receiver. I'm looking at a used Sporter and was thinking about adding an adjustable rib unsingle barrel. How would this be viewed if
I ever went to sell?

Almost every K-80 imported in the last 20 or so years does not have matching SNs between the receiver (and the forend metal, which should match) and the barrels. In fact, the SN format between the receiver and the barrels have been totally different for some time now. It's absolutely nothing to worry about.

One of the best things about owning a Krieghoff or 5 is the ability to swap barrels and stocks and receivers to build the perfect gun for your needs and tastes. Of course you want to have a qualified smith do the fittings and check the tolerances....

New? Probably not. Sometimes, perhaps.
Used? Very tough. Hard to find - and getting harder as sub-gauge barrels get more popular (again).

I was at DuPont's in Vero Beach last week and asked that same question ...no matching numbers on the barrels.

Looking at a couple threads, you seem to have a real case of red a$$ for Krieghoff, as well as some very fine folks associated with the brand.

Too much medication?......not enough?......mom grounded you again?...

I don't see anything wrong with the GE K-Gun, thought I prefer my American K-gun. My wife recently went to the GE side of the house. Anyone supporting the shotgunning sports is typically a keeper, German, Japanese, Turkish, Belgium, American, etc., come on over!

See there, John Henry...... I tried nicely to warn you. Now, you've lost any reputation you might have had for being objective. (You've no one to blame but yourself.)

Purchased many large items over the past few years from Kemble @ D/K all via emails and phone calls and was treated with the best of care and more than fair. Even purchased a Kolar gun from them (since sold at a good profit). It is all about relationships, relationships are the key to great deals, bashing businesses on here gets back to the people that own and run them. Her husband is a regular on here and I would think one would be a little more careful about verbalizing ones negative opinions about their family business.
