I've been shopping for a slug barrel for my 390 Beretta.
I have it narrowed down to fully rifled with a cantilever scope mount, no problem.
I know I could buy a new weapon for the same price as a barrel. But, I want to hunt with the same weapon for waterfowl and deer.
So, other than price, and in some cases rate of twist, what is the difference between the Beretta factory barrel, Hastings, and Badger?
And, will rate of twist restrict me from a wider range of current ammo?
Thanks,
3d

I don't know too much about the Bretta Factroy barrels I beleive they are a 1:28 twist, the hastings barrels are a 1:35 twist and Badger are 1:26 twist. They Bretta ans Hastings will shoot any ammuntion. The Badgers should be limited to sabots only due too the fast twist will led up quickly. A 1:28 twist will lead up too so stay away from soft lead or non coated lead slugs. A slower twist shoots slower slugs better as a fast slug does not have enough time to stabilize. Hope this helps.
