If anyone is thinking about any barrel work, this is the man you should have do it. He does excellent work at real reasonalble prices. He also gets it back to you in little time. He has worked on my Remington barrel and I was more than satisfied with his work. And thanks again Mike. sj :D

Tex:

Mike is sometimes a little tough to get ahold of due to him being a one man shop. But his turnaround time is quick, his prices fair, and his work good. Try calling him a few more times.

Hi Mike. I have a 682Gold E that I was thinking about having some forcing cone work done. I don't have any recoil or pattern issues, I notice alot of fouling a few inches past the chamber. I didn't have this problem with my BT 100 and I use the same ammo. I wonder if the surface isn't as slick as it should be. Your thoughts would be helpful. Thanks Skip

I just wanted to say a big thanks to Mike. I sent two barrels to him last Friday for choke tube installs and my wife just called to say they are waiting for me at home. One week total from VA to MA and back! Thanks for working on these for me.

Wholesale means dealer price.

If I remember correctly, when I sent him my grandfather's LC Smith barrels, he sent me an e-mail after he had done the work, giving me the total cost. I knew about what it was going to be from his price list.

BTW, he did the work well, for the listed price (plus shipping probably - I don't remember), with a fast turnaround.

He does respond to e-mails, but apparently he operates a one-man shop and he does take weekends off and occasional vacations.

Let's give credit where credit is due....I sent Mike a set of barrels from a little German 16 bore sxs for opening the chokes and lengthning the forceing cones. I got them back in great shape, excellent work, and an eleven day turnaround from Arkansas to Maine and back with the 4th of July holiday and a weekend thrown in for good measure!

Price was more than fair and the barrels shoot just where they did, only wider, as desired. I highly reccomend his operation.

Mike, what would you charge to restore a Model 12, and do you even do that?

There are very few gunsmiths that Dixie Slugs uses, much less suggets to others. However, nobody touches our test barrels except Mike Orlen.....period!
Also....mant shooter/hunters have the longer barrels bobbed to 21" and make Tri-Ball guns!
Regards, James @ Dixie Slugs

Dear Mike,
I received my 30" Bernardelli 801 barrel that you worked on (4" extension of the forcing cone, front bead and tru-choke install) for me. I'm happy to say that after a quick patterning session, and a trip to the trap field I shot two rounds. My first round was a 24 and my second round was a 25. My first perfect round ever! I'm now crushing the birds with this shotgun!

So add another totally satisfied customer who will be bringing ALL of his barrel work to you.

Thanks Mike!!!!
Thanks Shotgun World!!
And Thanks To All My Fellow Shooters Who Recommended Mike!
