Hi,
I bought an 11 87 20 ga. for my daughter after pumping thousands of rounds through my 1100 which never failed. My daughters trigger will not engage. I have replaced the O ring , same result. When I remove barrel nut and slide barrel forward slightly it will fire. I have read http://www.go2gbo.com/forums/47-gunsmit ... oblem.html and still cannot figure out what is causing the problem. It was shooting fine then just stopped so it was assembled right. I sure could use some help. the disconnect and shell release look good.
Thanks

Can you hit the bolt handle forward and allow it to go into battery and fire?
My 12 ga. 1187 was like this and I hate to admit, it was a cleaning issue.
Enough carbon had built up in the gas cylinder to prevent it from cycling all the way.
It looked normal as the carbon was pummeled flat an looked very much like the color of the rest of the metal. It was pretty thick.

Right there is the best bet.
Something is holding the bolt out of battery, and the odds-on-favorite is built-up crud in the gas piston area someplace. It's effectively "shimming" the action out of battery.

You are a genius.
Sweetheart Did you take the gun apart ?
no DAD
You mean it just stopped shooting
Yes Dad
I should of asked
Did your boyfriend take it apart and not put it back together the right way?
It was the ring order and it was dirty.
Man I am happy about this. I even took the 1100 apart. All looked good til I pulled up a good picture of the rings.
Thanks to all that replied.
