Your assumption is correct. I'm located about 30 miles north of Brainerd...on Hwy 371.

Doug

I have a Beretta 682 E trap combo. With the way the stock is designed and the trigger guard too far back for my hand, I get my mid finger bumped every shot. This causes some pain after a 50 or so shots. Wondering if you have a solution other than making a new stock. Maybe there is another trigger guard available. Have had the 687EELL trap model and experienced no or less discomfort. Would have swaped stocks if it was possible.

The two receivers are essentially the same. And so are the trigger guards I believe. So, I would think any changes that are going to be needed would take place in the reshaping of the grip.

If both guns have adjustable triggers, are they both set in the most rearward position? This would allow your hand to move further from the rear of the guard.

Something else that might help would be a palm swell. That would open your hand a little, slightly changing your grip. Between that and adjusting the trigger toward the rear should relieve most of the recoil hitting that middle finger. Kickeez make a stick-on palm swell (I think they call it a Palmeez) and a couple of companies sell padded gloves that serve the same purpose.

Change your grip. If you turn the right hand more to the left the middle finger automatically move back clearing the back of the trigger guard. Had the same problem until I changed my grip. Or you can put a piece of rubber tubing around the back of the trigger guard.

I have taken my gun to a gunsmith, but I think he did a bad job because the gun now feels different than it did previously. I have heard good things about Doug's Gunsmith Shop, so I plan on taking my gun in sometime in the next month or so when I make my trip out to vegas because I got some great Hilton Hotel Promos, so I will stop by Doug's shop on my way. Thanks for the discount!

Hot Dang!!

I have lurked here a few times for some answers and ran a search on Shotgun Gunsmiths and Dougs shop was the first one that showed up. I had just sent him an email about having some work done on a Guild shotgun I was thinking about picking up. I figured I would go ahead and register here and search for some answers to some other questions I have. Clicked on Gunsmithing and Restoration and this is the first thread I found. What luck!! Sorry if this is an inappropriate reply for this thread is so please delete I mean no harm. Just thought it was pretty funny.
