Shot in the largest SC tournament I have ever competed in, the U.S. FITASC Grand Prix, at my home SC course. This was also the most challenging event I have ever participated in - especially 12G FITASC. I shot the prelim, Kolar Cup and 5-stand poorly, but I wasn't too unhappy with my 12/20G FITASC game.

Parcour #7 in a torrential downpour on Friday was my worst parcour, but the rest I was pretty happy with. I shot a 19 on Parcour 1, which was a moral victory, in that I hit the new 70mm B-bird 3 or 4 times. It was a crosser flying fast at about 70 yards away. Amazing. I did well in 20G FITASC, getting a couple AA points. 635 rounds through the Summit Limited this weekend. I'm tired.

What astounds me most about the weekend of shooting is the talent of some of the best shooters in the game. 192 tied for HOA at the 200 bird FITASC main event. I can't fathom missing only 8 birds in 8 parcours with all the tricky, deceiving, and downright hard shots that presented themselves.

Got my new Maxis Mod choke in the mail after shooting the prelim on Thursday, so I was Mod/Mod the remainder of the weekend, even with the Side Kick 20G tubes in the gun. I think I'll like knowing I can hit any legitimate target offered with M/M in my CG Summit Ltd.

Total shot count for the Summit Limited = 9435.

It seemed to work for you on station # 11 on Sunday. Nice 6 for 6 sir.

Finally got back onto my local SC course today for some much needed practice. Put 195 rounds thru the Sum Ltd. Got some instruction on limiting my cheek mount-to-trigger time. On fast birds this isn't really an issue, as there isn't enough time to "ride" the bird. But on long loopers or teals, there is time, and I sometimes make trouble for myself by checking too early, riding the bird, and not getting a good feel for the birds speed, trajectory, and lead required.

So while my conscious mind tries to move, mount, and shoot as soon as soon as I cheek the gun, I found myself struggling mightily. It felt like I've never shot this sport before. I was advised to work on this and minimize "ride" time on those slower developing shots. I can do this, but it is a bit awkward thinking about all that while trying to execute a shot.

My beautiful CG Summit Ltd. was great - flawless as usual. I wish I could look as good as the gun. 10k rounds are around the corner.

Total shot count for the Summit Limited = 9630.

Andy, riding the target brings all sort of issues and it's in your best interest to break yourself out that habit sooner rather than later no matter what it takes.

In the worst cases I've seen one guy who almost can't make himself pull the trigger out of indecision.

Another 150 rounds of practice today. Really sticky and hot out there, but it's dry and not freezing cold. Good weather to shoot in.

Total shot count for the Summit Limited = 9780.
