Does anyone know when the teams will be announced? It seems as though the NSSA are really taking their time. They still have the points listed from last year on there as well. I know this was the first year that the shooting season ended December 31st but you would still think it would be done by now.

No Name,
The shooting year ending 2 months later is a big deal, here is why. After the shooting year ends (Dec. 31st), The clubs have their time to get shoot reports in, then headquarters does their inputting, They then try to call any clubs that had a shoot date but they haven't yet received a shoot report. After headquarters is pretty sure they have all the scores, they proceed to print and mail out the average cards, which the shooters then have 2 weeks to get back to headquarters with any corrections. My committee now has the files in hand and are proceeding to assign the teams. This is not as simple as going down a points list and putting the appropriate number on each team. This may be true for the Open team, but for all the rest we have to make sure we don't have shooters duplicated on different teams, (like Rookie and Senior, or Military and Triple Sub). Then we have to do the hybrid calculations for the SJ, Junior & Senior Vet teams. This is a very involved process where we check and double check our results and then compare them with others on the committee to make sure we are as accurate as possible. Headquarters will get our final picks sometime this week and they will publish them ASAP

Thanks for the reply Al. I did not realize how much work was needed for the selection of the teams and am glad the teams will be completed soon.

Al -

Does the same apply for NSCA All State teams? I respect the desire to get it right and give clubs time for sure. Mine shows me in the lead, but waiting to see if any late season shoots change that. When should we expect results to be announced?

Thanks.

What you are seeing currently on the NSSA web site is the 2016 All american teams based on the 2015 scores. When the 2017 teams are posted the scores will be base on the 2016 scores.

you can pretty much guess most of the teams now just by looking at the race in each category. No reason it would change now.

Hey Al,

how is your team doing on compiling the teams for this year? Will they be posted in Feb or March?

Hopefully they proof it better than whoever proofed the CTN World Shoot winners list.

Last year the NSCA teams were posted around March 10, 2016.
