Argh! My new Guerini is not new anymore. I was wiping it down after shooting trap yesterday and noticed that the front bead is gone. Now there's just a hole at the distal end of the rib. I'm guessing it got banged off when I placed the gun into one of those wooden racks at the range. The 28 inch barrels sometimes do not extend above the top of the rack. I'm a bit annoyed because I treat the gun like a newborn baby.

Is this something that can be replaced? Can CG mail me a replacement to screw in there, or does it require formal repair at the factory?

And should I even worry about it, since I've been taught not to look at it (though as I'm learning some of the things I was taught might not be correct).

Thanks

Not sure what "watching" means.

Can anyone answer the question?

Call CG, they will send you another or sell you one and tell you how to install it

Yup as easy as a phone call. Email didn't get answered but they picked up on second ring and will ship a replacement tomorrow for free.

It screws on there. There's no magic to it.

I don't know how some people can claim to shoot while seeing the beads. If I'm even vaguely aware of them (less than 100% focus on the bird) I will miss.

Yes, the gunsmith mentioned that he's more used to hearing people remove them then put them back on! My OCD is bothered by a) the hole in the rib and b) knowing the part is missing.
