I adjusted the nut and it helped, as a matter of fact it went from dropping 16.8 to 17.4 clays which is still in my range to load them but gained me a half of a grain or more that it wasn't dropping. Looks like I need a double nut on mine as well. I think I can spring for a new bar too. The old one has served it's purpose well. Thanks for all the help and happy shooting!!

If you look very carefully you will see why that Nylock will gradually slip with repeated application of force by the downward motion of the press. If you cannot see why, I am sorry to hear that.

In that particular application, the nylock nut only retards the movement , but will not prevent it. A second nut used as a jamb nut is the correct solution.

Hmmmm, I've never had Nylocks slip, I guess that's because I've always only used them in "up tight" aplications. I haven't had that nut back off on my Grabber, I'll keep it in mind.

As you have realized, torqued in position is somewhat different than hanging out in nowhere with only the compressed nylon keeping the nut from falling off.

The ones on my 310 and Grabber are #10-24, or #10NC

I believe 10-24 is correct. Not out in my shop, but that's correct if memory serves.

Just got a care package from Gamaliel today, my new 7/8 oz skeet special bar with white insert was included.

If it is the "Skeet Special" bar, it probably throws closer to 3/4 oz. than 7/8 oz. It will have to be reamed to get the wanted 7/8 oz..

Don't have a clue why people continue to buy those "Skeet Special" bars, because NO-ONE I know of uses soft, (Drop Shot), shot anymore. Not even sure you can still get it.

I was under the understanding that it would drop closer to 7/8 oz with #9 shot, now that pi**es me off that I was told the absolute opposite of what your telling me DLM and I'm pretty sure your right on this one.

Yes Dave is correct. Those bars should be done away with. I use a step bit in a drill motor to ream out the bars. Ream on the under side and NOT the top!!!!

Thank you D L Marcum and Curly! My new 9000Hn was not releasing the charge bar with a shell in station #2. Thanks to this thread I adjusted the reprime tube and it is working now.
I've only loaded 4 boxes so far but this press is amazing! It works just great. Thanks guys you saved me a lot of tinkering. {hs#
