I have a source around here where I can buy as many as I am likely to use for a while. I will be using them in Cheddite 16 gauge hulls. Any experiences with them you would like to share? What say you? Thanks...

Have been using them for years in 12,20 and 28 gauge. Nothing wrong with them.

Just remember, the Fio 616 primer is slightly oversize compared to domestic primers. As hard as it is to find 16 ga. hulls you don't want to mess them up if you ever need to go back to domestic.

Yep and yep. They go bang, they light the powder, and they are a bit bigger. They also cost less.

I started scooping 'em up by the tens of thousands as far back as 2002, when I first smelled trouble comin' with respect to domestic primers (first price increases and then availability).

I'm well into 80,000 since then and have had no FTF's and they go through my press primer feeds like, well, flawlessly.

Some with chronographs have reported they are not as 'consistent' as many other primers but, I only test my loads on flying rocks and have nary a complaint.

It is true they are a tad larger than the dome$tic$ but, that only concerned me until I realized, I'll likely never be able to afford to "go back" (but, I am happy for and I envy anyone who ever can)!

Fiocchi's, Rio's and Cheditte primers are all .242 diameter. WW, Feds and CCI's are all .241. Best check the hull you plan on using if you can hunt some up. Sportsman's Warehouse has a small stockpile as of an hour ago. OUT...

Do you think those primers are held to thousands of an inch tolerances primer to primer, box to box, batch to batch, week to week, year to year?

ShowMe,

No, they don't. There is variation in primer size from lot to lot brand to brand. I've measured lots of them over the years. They are not all always the same.

I suspect you suspected that.
