Probably the lowest price I've ever seen for Vectan powders so far, - $13.63/Lb !

Plus, they have free HAZMAT going on too! That's $114.80/keg to your door step!

Anyone want to split a case of A24 ? ;)

Bushing chart is here : https://www.grafs.com/uploads/technical ... ile/23.pdf

Buy a 20 bottle (unbroken) case, and that's $111.90/keg to your front door step!

Which ones would be the best for:
1- 3/4 oz in 12 gauge (currently using Titewad)
2- 3/4 oz in 20 gauge (currently using Universal)

Both using the CB wads and Gun Club hulls, typically either Cheddite, Fiocchi, or Nobel primers

Wow- that's competing head to head with Promo. Promo WAS my go to powder for 1 1/8 ounce at 1150-1180. I just got data back from Precision and I think Vectan AS will be my new choice:
Once fired Gun Club, W209, 17.7 grains AS, CB1118, 1 1/8 ounce, 0.055 crimp, all hand weighed
1183 FPS WITH AN SD OF 05 and ES of 16
10,924 PSI with an ES of 1620
This was a 10 shot string. Think I will back off to 17.5 grains and go with it. Vectan says AS is "similar" to Clays and this data tends to support that. They do not list 1 1/8 ounce loads with AS but as long as you ARE NOT trying to get 1200 FPS, it is hard to ignore an SD of 05. Fit of this load in the Gun Club was very good- wad ram just wiggling, nice flat crimps. I suspect it would be as good with the DR118, or Blue Duster, not the DRA bronze. However, with pressure up near 11,000, I wound be a little leery of swapping wads without some lab testing.

Repub,

How many bottles must you buy to get the “Free” Hazmat? I was on their site yesterday and saw that sale but the Hazmat fee was $20 plus flat shipping of $7.XX. I did not start the checkout process so things might change during the checkout.

I’m just wandering if this started today or I missed something yesterday?

I think maybe Repub mis spoke. By my math you can order 40 bottles (44 pounds), pay a flat $8.00 shipping and $20.00 hazmat. It does comes out to about $114 for 8 pounds. AND it can be as much of little of any Vectan powder you want in 1.1 pound increments. You can get a couple bottoes each of all the stuff you want to try.

How so ?

You get free HAZMAT for 10 or more bottles. Put them in your cart, and click on "view cart" :

$14.99/bottle divided by 1.1 Lb = $13.63/Lb.

And total price divided by 11 Lbs X 8 Lb Keg = $114.80/keg.

Think of Vectan 'A1' as 'Green Dot', and Vectan 'A0' as Universal.

Although I currently have 3 #8 kegs of 20/28 powder for my 28 gauge gun: I just ordered 10 1.1 pound bottles of Hectan AO powder to load when my supply runs out. I like the AO and want to load more of it and at this price it’s $21 cheaper per #8 keg than the 20/28 at Dawsons, out the door.

That A1 has a hell of a range it can work in. I used it in 12gauge only but from 25g steel to 42g subsonic lead with some nice shot, itx, bismuth, pure copper, lead and some others.
I abused it really. I normally run way_way faster powders. This powder seems to be about Greensdot or a little slower. Ish, it's the Euro hulls make comparison poor

Good Afternoon,

I only shoot 20 gauge, primarily 3/4 oz.

For straight walled hulls I've had great luck with A0. I'm using the Herter's (made by Cheddite) hulls I bought on sale from Cabela's.
For Win HS hulls I use GM3 (that's currently on sale for $13.99 for 1.1 pounds. Even cheaper than the price for A0, A1, and most others).

Both powders work great with the data supplied by BPI.

The GM3 is granular and looks like dirt or clean cat litter. A0 is unusual. It is small squares in green and pinkish. The squares are small but still large for "flakes" of powder. I thought it would meter poorly. I was wrong. It meters great.

I have two bottles of A1 but haven't gotten around to trying it yet.

Good luck. The chances are very good you'll be pleased if you give A1, A0, or GM3 a try in 20 gauge using BPI's data.

Dan

My mistake, I looked around the site and saw no mention of the "no hazmat." Seems like a hell of a good deal, odd you have to start checking out to discover it. Makes it an even better deal. AND I noticed PrimaV, Prima SV, and GM3 are only 13.99 a bottle

Several months back (before they lowered the hazmat to $20) Grafs advertised waiving the hazmat if you order 10+ bottles of Vectan powder. There was no expiration date mentioned and, so far, it hasn't expired. Maybe they figure it is "common knowledge" by now. Of course it could expire at any time so we should make use of it while it's available.

Something else that might not be completely obvious is that once you qualify for the hazmat to be waived by ordering Vectan, you can add other hazmat items (other powder, primers, etc.) to the order and not pay any hazmat on them either as long as it all can go in one pverpack box.

Who knows when it will end? A marketing strategy long used very successfully by Costco is to instill in the shoppers a sense of "I better buy it now because it might not be here next time". Might be a bit of that at work here too. If you are on the Grafs email list, they are usually pretty good at sending out a notice when something like that is going to end.

time to stock up! I've gone through about 16lbs (technically 17.6) lbs of Vectan AS. I love the stuff! The best 1oz powder I've ever used (prefer it over clays, 700x, red dot, e3, tightwad).

Holy smokes, that puts it at $107.53/Keg.

That *is* a good find, because prior to this latest deal, they had bumped those granular powders up to the same prize of their flake powders.

How in the hell can you say no to $107.53/keg for OEM Vectan's ?

If memory serves, that's even cheaper than what I was paying for local powders when I first got into this stuff in like 2006.

I guess it all depends on what powder you were buying in 2006. In those days Promo and Titewad were going for somewhere in the $70 - $90 range. Clays and the Dots were in the $100+ range as I recall.
