Does anyone have a 1300 fps load using 296 that will work in the old cf hulls? Thanks for your time.

I have been using 14.0 grains of 296 for 35 years in the cf AA win hulls.
1200 fps using Win 209 primers and now CB 5050 wads.Works fine.

I would like to duplicate the sporting clay velocity of 1300 fps.

There used to be such a load in the Lyman manual.

You could switch to AAHS hulls and do it with no problem. The CF hulls will only get you close (1250fps) but with a different powder.
