Well then you are gonna have to tell all the wild birds I have shot since 1993 that they aren't dead because I was ONLY shooting #6's.

If you think that one shot size is the whole reason you kill wild birds.......I have some ocean front property in Tennessee to sell you.

I think you misunderstood me. I do not hunt wild pheasants in the upper Midwest etc. so I was NOT offering an opinion on reloading shot size for wild birds. My standard pheasant load here in NE is 1 oz of copper plated no 6 shot in 12 gauge. Pretty much a 16 gauge load shot out of a light 12 gauge double gun. My point was that I have found no real benefit to loading size 5 shot on pen raised birds. Magnum quality size 6 shot does fine inside of 40 yards, at least for me.

If you are dropping wild birds in central North Dakota with size 6 shot then good for you-- that probably would be my preference as well.
