Which ones are they 684, 686, 688? 684's are the coolest, then 686's, then 688's.

They are the 686. How would you compare them to Winchester ,Federal, Fiocchi, and Cheddits all of which I have used.

684, 686, 688, 684? I don't remember which number was on the Nobel primers I bought, but they were the worse primers I have ever used. They produced odd sounding reports at temps in the 40s. I don't know how they did in colder temps as I cut my losses and sold all I had left.

They are similar to Fiocchi in size and heat. But they tend to yield better SD and ED numbers.

All American primers are .241 to .242, Ch and Foi are .243, and Rio are .244. The Nobel is also .242. I've been told if Cheddites are used you can't go back to say Win primers. I've found this false, at least in my experience. I used Cheddires for years, maybe 40,000, then went to Win because two of my old SxSs would pierce the primers and I didn't want to pay someone to make new firing pins. I'm not sure about the Fiocchi or Rio primers.

Don't use them in US made hulls or they will expand the primer pockets. After using them in US made hulls, you will not be able to use US made primers, they will fall out of the hull. Don't ask me how i know this.

I use them to reload Rio hulls (Rio 1oz target, low brass). Cheddite primers fall out of the hulls. Also reload Kemen cases for Kemen loaded a few years ago at the same plant that loaded my Rio hulls in Tennessee.
