With shot now at, or close to $50/ bag after sales tax, this makes a lot of sense. I load 3/4 oz in 12 and 20 for informal skeet with the boys and I don’t feel handicapped at all

Yup, love 3/4oz through a 20 gauge! I usually save factory or 7/8oz loads for hunting or when my daughters come along to shoot skeet or clays. They seem to break more with clays with 7/8oz but, I do not see much disadvantage or lower scores with 3/4oz loads.

You know I read the 3/4oz 20ga thread some time back thinking ‘what a bunch of mental nonsense’. Thought it was gimmicky or just for experts. So glad I ignored my initial reaction. This has, to me, eliminated any interest in adding 28ga barrels to my 20.

Just started reloading 20ga,, Been reloading 410 & 28 ga,,, Having problems with reloading 7/8oz load with the WAA hulls with stack height. Picked up 500 Rem STS hulls and there working out awesome. Will save the WAA hulls for the 3/4 oz load. Just got the new 3/4oz slide bar so haven't had the time to try it out yet, Using 20/28 powder @ 15.7 drop = 1200fps
This is my experience as well - stack height is a little too high with 20/28, AAHS hull, CB wad, and 7/8 oz of #9 shot. I am not sure why this load works for some people - but I'm guessing they are collapsing the wad crush section a bit.

If you will get some of the blue Downrange wads or Remington RXP those stack height problems should go away

What blue Downrange wads? Did you mean the Windjammer 20 gauge wads? Jeff

I haven't broken anything 49 yards out with them, but that could most certainly be the shooter, not the shells. Maybe I need more choke... or maybe I need to be more on target (one of the two)

At the cost of shot today the 3/4 ounce load will give you a extra five boxes of reloads to shoot!
