I just spoke to the best reloading retail source in Michigan. No shot no primers including Cheditte and very little powder. And no end in sight.

I have changed my reloading plans to only loading 28s. If this keeps up I may take up a new hobby. Factory ammo is in short supply as well.

And while yer at it, go to Costco, and buy 4X Group-24 deep cycle RV/marine batteries, and a high-grade 24-volt 2,000 Watt inverter so that you can operate "off grid", and/or portable operation:



But from the Obama era, hopefully you heeded the warning (when components *did* eventually come back), and stocked up on components (and the cheap Vectans).

If not, start designing/planning a storage system to sore 2-years worth of components if/when they come back.

And oh, one more thing, do NOT plan on storing smokeless powder and primers in your house or attached garage !

Ive been telling people for a long time, you need to plan your inventory levels to span an entire presidential administration.

Local store up the road has a bunch of shot 7.5 8 and 9. I bought a 4 pd of 410 and 1 pd of 300MP. I also picked up 2500 clay 1/2 wads. No primers but last time I was up there. I bought 1000 cci, 1000 Winchester and 1000 fiocchi primers. I don't have a 28 ga but been buying hulls when I run across them.

Good thing about Florida: I can always go fishing.

We all realize that this is more a result of hoarding than anything else, right?

Combo of hoarding, supply chain disruption but I think hoarding has way more to do with it than anyone realizes.

Line was 25 deep on a Wednesday last week at cabelas for the door to open, all were there to buy ammo and about 90% said they were going to resell it.

I was in line to get muzzleloader pellets.

That's not hoarding. That is reselling in an (quasi-illegal) secondary market, and usually with vastly jacked up prices. May they have a big inventory that won't move when this is done.

I was just surprised so many were open to admitting it.

I asked about reloading supplies and almost all said they had large quantities of primers, and they weren’t reloaders.

It’s all why I keep 1-2 years on hand at all times.

We do, but those inland lakes look petty good.

Just remember to watch out for gators and cottonmouths - those snakes like to swim out and crawl over you gunwales or drop into your boat from the low overhanging trees by the shore...................

I think the technical term is arbitrage. The two things that will slow that down are 1) increases in retail pricing (making the margin smaller) and 2) purchase limits, making it more of a hassle to buy low.

Unfortunately, neither of those are good for regular people who shoot a couple flats a month.

Most people don't have the time to search often on the internet. If you put time in you can find components. They sell out quickly. Like in 5-10 minutes.

I have a HAM Shack like the one pictured, an airplane, HAM radios in my cars, a boat and a lot of photography equipment that does not require film any more, so I can keep busy.

Talked to a guy in India and right now, do to government regulations and taxes, no gouging, ammo if on average $4.00 a round. You either have to be rich or you have to only want a few rounds for protection. Since you can't own more than 2 firearms there, at least you can keep the required number of Calibers / Gauges down and Reloading is Illegal.

Certainly not moving to India any time soon (or ever)
