I wanted to try my hand at loading the hulls 1 time. I was going to load them for crow hunting. So if I don't find them it would be OK. What would I need? I think all I need is a 410 ga roll crimp 410 overshot cards If someone has reloaded them are they worth reloading. I don't have many good 3 inch hulls. Remington or Winchester.

I shoot a lot of 410's in a pump/semi auto and an O/U. Federal 410 hulls have never worked well for me. The plastic seems a lot thinner and I've had primers fall out and hull splits.. I stick with Remington/Winchester and Cheddite's. And have no such problems. I don't roll crimp but load them on a MEC 600JR MK5. If you can keep the primers in roll crimping may work for you.

I have some older federal that are red & some are maroon color also. Can a person reload them on a 600 mark 5 ? That is what I have . I have a hard time finding Remington and Winchester. If I could find some 3 inch fiocchi hulls. I would use them. I fount a few once fired fiocchi & loaded them. Even if I could find some new ones . I would buy them. But everyone is out of them. Can u use fiocchi primers in Cheddite hulls? If u can't it wouldn't work for me . If they would. I will start looking around for some soon.

Best hulls for reloading are Winchester HS. Remington are second best but far short of the Winchesters. I have have reloaded on a MEC 600 for years both 2 1/2 and 3 inch. i have trouble posting photos but if you PM me your email I will send some photos. Wads specific for 3 inch hulls are not available anymore. Stuck with Clay buster 5050. I could only get 11/16 oz loads in 3 inch not 3/4 oz. Reloading supplied are impossible to find currently.

Win super X is a HS hull expect 10 reloads with 300MP and 1225 fps @ 9,200 psi. I find the CB5050HS by design sticks to the wad ram and lift up spilling shot, where win and rem primers fall off which means they stay down in the hull. (win 209 and hull, 17.0grains 300mp, CB5050hs/aa410hs/SP410 wad, 11/16 ounce of mag shot, six fold crimp.
Alliant has recipes for fed and rem hulls, 300mp/win296 will give hull life 410 and lilgun (hodgdon) may not.

I’ve roll crimped new hulls, both Fiocchi and Cheddite, almost all were tss turkey loads. I did load a couple boxes of squirrel loads in lead. Roll crimping is very easy if you have the right tools

Steve The not slit to the bottom design of the CB5050H has a smaller I.D. than the O.D. of the wad /powder ram. It sticks by is design. Making sure there is no flare at the ram end helps but you are still using the hull fiction and the weight of the shot to keep it down. I use a size master with a ram that handles powder/wad/shot. thanks any way
