When did this happen? The traditional Remington primer, all brass color, are not used in the Gun Clubs. They have a brass center with a silver outer ring. This might be confusing when selling these hulls. All the STS and Nitros still have the all brass colored. Also I collected some Winchester grey hulls. Instead of the traditional Win primer,( deep copper colored center and silver outer ring) these had silver center with a copper outer ring. Is this anything new or is it old news?

Old news.
Win started using silver/brass primers in some factory loads a couple years ago (same as the reloading primer), although silver center copper rim would be a new one on me.
Rem has always used a different primer in the GC 20 than the GC 12, and has used a different primer in the GC 12 than the STS 12 in the past.
Federal has a bunch of different primers they use.
Esp with the current situation, factories are stuffing in anything they can.

I think you will find that, just like powders, wads and shot, there are many different primers available to the factories that we, as reloaders, do not have access to.
Nothing new, just the way it is.

While discussing Gun Clubs 20ga. I bought a flat of them so I know they are new. the once fired look dirty and if I did not know better I would swear they were reloads . Has this always been the case? i just recently been shooting 20ga.

Pretty much. Whatever primers they use in the GC 20s pierce with frequency as well (one flat one GC 20s cooked a brand new set of firing pins on my Kolar), I suspect Remington is/was putting foreign primers in them. I wonder what Vista Remington will use.

I had the same issue with pierced primers shooting 20 ga Gun Clubs. Fortunately I had not purchased a full flat (only six boxes or so), and then just a handful of shells per box had pierced primers. I had an annual done on my K80 a few months later by Krieghoff at the World - no comments were noted regarding the condition of my firing pins. However, I'm staying away from Gun Clubs. Happy to pick them up off the ground though.

In my experience, the 20 ga Gun Club hulls do reload as well as the 12 ga ones. -Ed

Hey Tom, The new gun doesn't hit everything I point it at but sadly I think it is my fault.I am slowly making friends with it. You know the cliche "the guns breaks the clays fine when I do my part" I want a gun that breaks clays even when I don't do my part
