Walked into local pawnshop having sale, walked out with a nice old Stevens model 620 20 ga pump. Couldn't resist for $125. Gun is about 90%, little rust freckling on receiver, but overall very nice. Old timey all machined steel quality, hand checkered pistol grip. Guess is a 1940s or early 50s gun. Neat feature is - the locking lug for the bolt goes clear through the top of the receiver in a square hole, you can see it pop through when action is locked. Beautiful machine work throughout, made when blued steel and walnut were the standard for all guns. Showing my age, I guess.....

Forgot to say.....no serial number on this shotgun that I can see. When did they HAVE to number them -- after GCA of 1968? Also, two stars on barrel - does this mean Mod choke? (I hope)

Not a lot of definitive info online about these guns.

I'm guessing IM or Mod.

If the frame has tangs mating the buttstock it is a Model 620. If there are no tangs, the stock has a through bolt and it is a Model 620A. Either way they are takedown design. Nice buy.
