Anthony:

Congratulations on your qualification at Fort Bening, GA. Wishing you the best at the International shoots that you have earned a place in representing the U.S.

Your making the team was a truly remarkable achievement. Almost every successful bunker trap shooter I have read about made it focusing exclusively on preparation. You did it with no substantial previous comparable experience and while actively participating in running a sporting clay range, giving lessons, and continuing to shoot very competitively with the best sporting clays shooters in the world.
Another great thing about your success is that it clearly demonstrates the talent of the top sporting clays shooters.
I clearly remember when you indicated you were changing to an o/u because you were going to try Olympic trap. I said to myself, "he will do well and will come fairly close, but I do not think he will make it." Boy was I wrong!

Congrats Anthony.

A couple questions.

First, do you use a pull away method in Bunker?
Second, do you use a different rib for your gun with Bunker. I see a lot of guys in trap have very high raised ribs and wonder if you do the same.
If you do, does it affect you going back and forth from SC and Bunker?
thanks

By the nature of the game bunkers / olympic trap is shot with a controlled swing through. It would be impossible to really use any other method as the target is more or less always beating you. Most of the best bunker trap shooter use a traditional flat rib gun that would be pretty similar in set-up to a sporting clays gun just with little to no drop in the stock. I use the exact same gun.

Congratulations and good luck. We have a Bunker set up at our club and one of our members is on the Canadian Olympic Team. Watching her shoot is very intimidating to me.
