 Post subject: looking "through" the gun

Anthony, I've heard you mention "looking through the gun". I do understand this for the most part. I've also noticed that you sometimes hold your gun above the line of the target if I'm not mistaken. Is that a technique that helps seeing the target? Thanks in advance for your reply.

I try to hold on line. Seeing through the gun is the most useful on going away style targets and anything rising. Essentially it allows you to see the clay when it would otherwise be blocked by the barrel.

Looking under the gun is not a big advantage in bunker as our do not know where the target is going and most shooters don't hold high enough to really look under the gun.

In American trap for example the target is much slower and always the same height so many of the best shooters use a high-rib to see under the gun while holding a high hold point.
