Hi Guys! I'm back from Rhode Island and glad to see we're getting some more pics of members in the "Who are We?" thread. But I think we need a thread with pics of our Huglu made guns! So be it CZ, DeHaan, Orvis, TR Imports or just a straight Huglu, lets see some pics of your Huglu-made guns! Extra points awarded for nice wood or engraving! I'll dig out a couple of mine. My SO 20 guage DeHaan Editor's Note: Shotgunworld has a Huglu Photo Album at cpg1410/index.php My U1 16 gauge DeHaan There was another U1 16 gauge DeHaan, but I bought that one for my Nephew's 13th birthday present and I gave it to him before I ever got a photo of it. Sorry these are not the best photos. They are 2 1/2 years old and were the very first digital pics I had ever taken or posted! Assuming all goes well, I will in the next day or 2 have a picture of another DeHaan 16 gauge to post! Best....2few Just thought I should let you know I didn't work TOO hard in Rhode island....Traing class September 15 morning till 2pm....Telemarketed a few leads in the afternoon. Set an appointment for the morning of the 16th. SOLD IT! Boss and I met up at the marina where he keeps his boat at 1pm. This baby was in the boat by 3pm! I have a GREAT boss!

I'll post some pics when I get home next week.
Did some surf fishing today. I don't have a lot of experience doing this but we did well. I caught fish on every cast for about a half hour and then it slowed down some. Mainly Ladyfish (Skipjacks), silver sea trout, redfish, etc.. Suzi hooked into something "big" that just took the line out . She doesn't have experience with big fish and I was on shore so wasn't there to help her fight it and it broke off. What a shame. I am betting that she got into a bull redfish...wouldn't that have been nice!
So, we had a nice day so far. Suzi is cooking up a dinner and we are going to sit out and watch the surf and have some rum and cokes. Sure could be worse!

Rum, fresh fish and the sound of the waves......ahhhhhh......reminds me of my days in the caribbean!!!! Sounds like you were really hitting those fish HARD!!! Tell Suzi to go get a BIGGER one! Fishing from a boat is BIG FUN, but there is really nothing quite like getting into them in the surf! When I was a kid....like 10 years old through high school, my folks owned a house on Cape Cod. All summer I would fish in the surf from like 8:00 pm until 8:00 am (remember when you could let kids stay out all night and not worry?) I'd catch Striped Bass (rockfish to the chesapeake bay guys)....usually 6-10 per night....Half went to feed the family, the other half I would put in a cooler with ice in my red "radio flyer", tow it behind my bike and I would sell the fish door to door. I'd make $10, sometimes $15 PER DAY!!! Big money to a youngster in the late 60's and early '70s! Before I went fishing I would go watch the Cape Cod League baseball games and drink orange soda. Kept a comb in the back pocket of my pants. Sometimes it seems life was simpler then..... Sorry about going off on those tangents HiFli....Your post brought back a whole flood of memories.... Sounds like the weather has improved and you're having a BLAST! Enjoy these times to their FULLEST!!!! They don't come around as often as they should! Best......2few

Strat, what did that stock look like before you refinished it?? It certainly looks like a piece of upgraded wood now....you should give us a thread on how you refinished it, I for one would like to know

1steve, I'd be happy to do a little thread on stripping and refinishing. Hopefully 2few is going to post pictures of my Beretta too. There is actually before pictures of my 103D 20 ga. on this forum, 2few was supposed to move all of my Huglu photos over to this thread but he's been so darn busy I think he must have forgot. Here is the thread with this refinished 103D 20 ga.'s before photos. viewtopic.php?f=137&t=181800Just scroll down and you will see photos of it. strat

Hey Strat....
Thanks for reminding me about your other Huglu pics. I WILL get to it....but its about an hours project and I don't have it in me tonight. If I don't do it first thing when I get back from this next trip, give me a bump.
Best....2few

2few, no problem. That 'll be great when you get your Laptop. Hey could you please post the pictures of my Beretta that I sent you, 1Steve wants to see them. Maybe when you get back you could do a thread on posting pictures so that I can learn to do it and not have to burden you with it and I can even help others too which would help you out. strat

Holy crap in a hat - that's amazing! I was just last night thinking about someday refinishing my Partridge because I don't seem to be able to keep from dinging it. Yes, it's new and I've only had it in the field for one official hunt (shot a lot of air and the ends of tailfeathers ) but it now has a nasty ding in the stock finish. Any time the synthetic finish gets bumped it chips away. It's like the wood is wrapped in a plastic shell instead of being done in a quality finish. I don't mind dents and dings, but if you look at the synthetic finish wrong, it just messes up. Plus it makes good wood look like A$$. I'd love to know how you stripped that poly-whatever synthetic crap off so I can do the wood right and put a nice, glowing oil finish on it.

mountaindave, how are you doing buddy?? Some of the guns are worse than others, this little 20's finish was just like what you are experiencing plus that beautiful wood was just begging to come out. So I just took care of it. Your gun will be extremely easy to strip. I going to do a thread on striping and refinishing our gun stocks in the next couple of days, it really doesn't take to long to refinish one, not much down time and when you do get a scratch or ding they are very easily repaired. Isn't that some beautiful wood?? I think that I'm going to do my little .410 next, the wood in it should look just as pretty. I use to build and sell custom bows and have done a lot of custom wood finish work. strat
