A guy has one local for sale he wants 275.00.Its a 12ga with 28" barrel, looks just like the one linked here. He said he only has a box of shells through it. What can ya'll tell me about the gun? Is it based off the Remington or other make, and how about the parts interchangeable? Are they any good? Thanks for any info.

Welcome to the site, not to many Huglu Auto guys here but I do have some knowledge of the model that you are looking at. Chuck Lutz of TRImports has told me that the guns have been very reliable and a great value, from what I've seen I think the gun design is based on the old Beretta AL2's and 302/303/390 guns which were excellent guns. I can also tell you this, Chuck from TRI has told me that any guns that their company imported will be covered on warranty indefinately whether purchased new or used. So I don't think that you could go to far wrong if you need an inexpensive Autoloader. Please let us know how it works out if you decide to pick it up.

Hey cyclone!

WELCOME to the Huglu forum!

I wish I could offer you personal experience on the Huglu semis, but I am a SxS guy and my one experience with a semi shotgun (Rem 1100) was NOT a happy one. So I don't "do" semi shotguns anymore.

You mentioned interchangeability of parts between a Remmy and a Huglu semi. As I said, I can't say for sure, but I am confident that my chances of being struck by lightning 3 times while typing this are greater than there being any interchangeability of parts between a Huglu Semi and a Remmy.

Just my opinion, but if you are looking for an inexpensive semi and are considering a Huglu, I'd check out TR Imports site and get a new one. They are very inexpensive and to me, the security of TRI's warranty would be worth a little extra money.

I've heard that TR Imports will back their guns even for second owners, but to me that is only a rumor until I see a report of someone that bought one second hand and the warranty was still honored. I'm not saying it wouldn't be, I'm just saying I only know of one company that REALLY goes that far (Henry Rifles).

The owner of TR Imports (Chuck Lutz) posts here occassionaly. Perhaps you or Stratoliner could email him and get him to address this question.

Aside to Strat.....You have suggested that Chuck will honor the warranty on his guns whether bought new or used and that he will back them "indefinately" (sp?) as opposed to what I believe is his normal 5??? year warranty. I don't doubt you at all, but since you are to Chuck on this forum what I am to Mark, do you think you could get Chuck to make a public statement on this subject? Strat....this is not in any way meant as a "challenge", just after several months of hearing you brag on Chuck and TR Imports, you are getting me close to taking the plunge. A statement from Chuck on warranties might be "the straw that broke the camels back".

2few, Chuck personally asked me to pass that information along to all, but I will ask him to do as you request the next time that I talk to him, or you could also contact him yourself, I don't think that he would put a Spell on you or Brain wash you or anything over the phone, I've think I've taken up enough of his time. I really am nothing more to Chuck than you are, I'm just one of his customers. Chuck is currently on a Military mission flying wounded out of Afganistan and will be gone on his mission for at least another week or more. He is one very busy guy.

Okey-doke....I'll ask him about it and to make a statement here on the Huglu Forum. But just to clarify, you mean a lot more to him than I. Just as I am the Wal-Mart greeter guy and Official DeHaan Pimp of the Huglu Forum, you are the official TR Imports Salesman of the Huglu Forum. :D A title you should be proud of. Heck! I think you're doing a better job than me and I'm supposed to be a salesman by profession! Well Done!

I look forward to the day when you and I can have a friendly little competition to see who sells more of our favorite brand of Huglu! :D Heck, maybe when this forum is going a mile a minute we might have a little wager.....If you sell the most, I buy you a DeHaan. If I sell the most, you buy me a TR Imports! :D Caps in place, of course!

Strat, its really a pleasure working with you to make this Forum a FUN place to be!

Hi, Guys,....Strat, take 2few up on the bet! Back in the day when Mark sold "production level" guns it might have been a good bet for 2few to make, but now that he is SGr-level only and TRI covers all of the less expensive models, too....well, to me it would be a good bet that TRI would sell more guns.... You guys are a pair! Wishing you well, stever

What about other makers? Will other choke tubes fit besides Huglu tubes? Sorry if they are dumb questions.

Cyclone, they use the Beretta Mobil choke system and you get several additional chokes with the gun, I believe 5 chokes total. I use Trulock, Carlson, Kick's, Comp n Chokes and a Pattern Master in my 12 ga. Huglu/CZ guns. The 20 ga. guns use a different style of choke and custom/after market choke tubes are available from several sources. Chuck Lutz at TR Imports is a very helpful guy so be sure and ask him any questions that come to mind. Let us know what you do and how it works out for you, we don't get much Autoloader feed back on hear.

Cyclone, welcome to the forum!

$275 for that gun is a good deal, even if it's used. While that gun may have been bought overseas and carried back, maybe by a military member, we probably imported it, in which cased it is covered under our warranty. If you can tell me the serial number I can confirm it for you. It's a nice gun at a great price, but I should point out that it is not a Huglu. It is actually made by Kral, another Turkish company. It is produced in black and satin chrome, and ships with three (in some cases 5) choke tubes, which are Mobil chokes, the same standard used by Huglu, Beretta/Benelli and a lot of other manufacturers. By the way, I have heard of some compatibility issues with some Beretta 20ga guns. As far as I know, Beretta made a slight alteration in the threads on those guns in some model years so that they are not always compatible with other mobil chokes. Can any of you Beretta shooters shed some light on this topic?

As far as the warranty is concerned, we cover any gun we import for five years, regardless of who owns it. We don't actually cover guns that are older than five years, but if you do have an older gun and need service, parts or advice, we will certainly try to help you. If you ever have a question about a gun's history, just tell me its serial number. That way I can tell you its warranty status before you buy it.

As Strat says, I'm out of the country until next week, but every couple of days I have a few hours to jump on a computer, so if you have any other questions, post away.

To Chuck Lutz: I just put a used 12 ga Alto Silver Eagle on layaway. and I'm not sure if this is the SN" 003735306. Its whats on my receipt. I would like to know the history of this shotgun and also where I can get a set of chokes for it, also if that is the SN# would it be still covered under warranty. And one last thing Chuck can I get the manual from you for this gun. I want to thank you for your service, I also spent 20 yrs in the USMC/USA combined.

I only know of one person who had one, the first version of the gun would not work with light loads, he sent it back and got the updated version with 2 gas valves. He had no problems with it that I recall, unfortunately, he passed away last September.
