I was looking through some of the other threads and one of the members suggested starting a "MUM" thread/club. Can I join?

My 2007 16 ga Bobwhite is a mum gun, but I've never seen a silver finished mum before.

I am beginning to think that all the new ones are mum guns. Mine is a 2011 gun.

The "mum" is the flower engraved in the rosette of the break open lever. It replaces the "double headed chicken" Huglu logo. You can see it on the photos of the two guns at the top of the page.

Now that is what I call "hazing"! Image

The season for "traveling hunts" is upon me! :D So cash will be skinnier than a crack whore for the next few months, but I think that once my "winter gun buying season" arrives I am going to have to be pro-active and search me out a Mum gun!!!! No more "trusting to fate"!

I just saw a CZ 20ga sxs at the range this past weekend and it was quite interesting. "Mum" gun, with very well figured wood, English, single trigger and a weird beaver tail and Schnabel forend, but finished in a really light color that was almost plasticky. It was also marked Orvis on the bottom of the receiver and the fellow said he had gotten it "on sale" for his grandson for $1600 dollars. Of course he then told me it was made by "AyA in Turkey" despite it being clearly marked CZ on the barrel. I just said it was a lovely gun and that his grandson was very lucky to be getting it.

Didn't know CZ did an Orvis gun.

WOW!!!!!! RPRNY, you have solved a longstanding mystery!!!!

We've known for a long time that Orvis was selling a limited line of Huglu guns, but we didn't know the first thing about them other than they were VERY EXPENSIVE Huglu guns. Now we know. The actual importer is CZ.

Sounds to me like Orvis ordered a run of guns from CZ-USA to their (Orvis') own specs. Grade III wood and their own fore end.

Essentially a DeHaan SGr-CS with English Stock, SST and Beavertail / Schnabel. Similar to a Ringneck but with English stock. http://www.orvis.com/intro.aspx?dir_id= ... 4016&rdr=1

$75 more than Mark's guns (and that is "on sale" at $400 off) and no choice in stock, triggers, and no custom stock dimensions. WOW! What a bargain!!!! And you even get the CZ-USA name.......

Got to hand it to Orvis......their balls are made of brass!

Might as well show some proof. I almost forgot I took pics of the serial numbers before I sent to to CZ.
