Did anyone of ya'll see the Man vs. Wild epsidode in Alabama this week?
I think my favorite parts were when he got stuck in the mud (hello Alabama red clay) and the presumed concern about alligators attacking him in the shallows.

South AL in rivers closer to the coast, though nowhere near the numbers in FL. Maybe a few outliers over the years that get further up a river than usual...or an owner turning one loose outside its range, but those are the exceptions. Didn't see the show so I don't know where he was.

Little River Canyon. Up in the northeast corner.

We had American alligators at Camp Lejeune NC. There isn't any in Alabama? There must be some somewhere in the wild that much further south.

Oh, absolutely there are. I actually have to be careful where I train my duck dogs. However, I don't think they are in Little River Canyon. If they are being attacked by one wouldn't be a big concern like they made it out to be on the show. I hear they are in Guntersville Lake now. Originally 55 of them were let loose on Wheeler Wildlife Refuge to control the beaver population. They thought they wouldn't be able to survive the winters. Wrong. Now they are fairly common. There are three on Redstone Arsenal that are 10+ feet.
