If this wasn't during bow season, I might do it. I really like the format with different events so that a specialist in say trap or skeet doesn't have as big of an advantage. Do you have anything similar to this going on when there isn't a hunting season (July or August)? Once September hits, I am dove hunting and then bow hunting. Then rifle and muzzleloader deer hunting followed by rabbit hunting. So I don't do any target shooting between Sept. 1st and Feb. 15th. And of course, the 3 weeks of spring turkey season are out too. If you have a similar event when there are no hunting seasons going on, I would be interested.

The first 3 weekends in April would potentially work but spring turkey season starts the last weekend of April. Of course, I can not commit to something for sure this far out but if a similar type event was held then I would definitely try to attend it if I were able. I would be a lot more likely to attend then than during any of our hunting seasons. I see shoots advertised all the time that seem to not take into account hunting seasons. There is a big clays shoot near here on Sept. 5th,6th, and 7th. That is also the opening weekend of dove season. If they held the shoot before dove season opened, I would go. Now I won't since I will be out in the dove fields. I guess there is a group of clays shooters that only shoot clays and do not hunt but there is also a fairly large group that shoots clays to practice for hunting. When shoots are scheduled in the fall during hunting seasons, a lot of the latter group will be out hunting and not attend clay target shoots. The months that are prime for that group to attend shoots are June, July, and August since no hunting seasons are going on then and that's when they are practicing for hunting season. I didn't mean to go on a big rant but I miss several shoots per year due to conflicts with hunting seasons. It seems the best/coolest/most interesting shoots occur in the fall during hunting season and nothing other than plain ordinary shoots occur during the summer. Although I can not promise anything this far in advance, I would try my best to attend a similar shoot to the one you are having in Oct. if you did it in April before turkey season.

double20,
I share your pain. A club near here has a triathlon shoot ( trap + skeet + sporting clays ) the first weekend in October. That unfortunately coincides with our wedding anniversary. Wife is not a shooter and I know where my bread is buttered. I may never make that shoot.
