The Benelli would be bottom of a long list of guns I would consider for your stated purpose. Have you looked at the Beretta Ultralight? That's a very pretty, light weight gun with a well proven pedigree and less money than the 828u

Blasers are awesome.

For upland, my go to guns for O/U are the 20 gauge Beretta 686 series field guns. I have a White Onyx 20 ga/28" version that is very comfortable to carry and have owned several Silver Pigeons in 12 ga and 20 gauge.

I would also consider seriously the Browning 725 Field if I were you.

I meant to add that both the 725 and the Citori come in much lighter "Feather" versions as well with alloy receivers.

Ooooh... the Beretta Ultralight Gold sounds pretty interesting. Now I need to see if I can find one in Canada, they seem rare-ish.

Sadly, Brownings don't fit me all that well.

There's a few Ultralights on Gun Trader to whet your appetite:

Don't be put off by them being in the UK. It is not difficult to export a gun from Britain most decent dealers can arrange it at reasonable cost.
And here's a recent review from the Shooting UK site which you may find of interest:
