I have a Beretta 682x Super Trap, and noticed some markings that confused me. Underneath the barrels, just behind the forend latch, there is a number (that appears to be at least a partial serial number), then it reads BB-2. I'm not sure what that BB-2 means, my best guess is that those could possibly be the largest sized shot that the barrels are rated to shoot, but really I'm not sure. Does anybody know what those markings mean? The barrels also read "Excelsior High Strength Alloyed Steel", if that's useful. Pictures below.

Oh, okay, thanks! The linked topic was a good read too, I had no clue that those markings signified date of manufacture. And apparently I have a 20 year old gun, that's interesting. Thanks again!

Those are great guns. Is yours a two barrel set? I had a 682 XTrap Combo that had a 32" Single and 30" Double.

No, its not a two barrel set. I bought it used two years ago for $900, definitely a good find. I actually just got back from a trap competition today, shot a 95/100. So age obviously isn't a factor in how well it shoots!

Having a second barrel for it would be great though, that sounds like an awesome combo that you had.
