Did Ithaca by SKB ever import/market the model 500/600 in 410GA? I have the 12/20&28 Ga..but cannot find the 410 anywhere. Any data or research ideas on where to find this info? My old GUN DIGESTs do not indicate whether Ithaca did or not?

Thx TAB..
I've been scouring those sites for about a year now....no luck yet but not giving up..
Also (If anyone cares). I had the privilege to speak with the curator of the Ithaca museum today. Mr. Sid Cleveland was a real treat with which to converse and a fine old gentleman. Much was discussed, but one point was certainly clarified. ITHACA only imported/marketed the 12 and 20 gauge Model 500 and 600s from SKB. The ONLY exception to this was that ITHACA also imported/marketed a Model 600 3 barrel set in 20, 28 and 410. They were choked Skeet/Skeet and the 410 was 2 ½ inch chamber. There are Model 500 and 600s in 28 and 410 but only from SKB…not ITHACA by SKB.

Hey Duck,

I'm sorry I can't help you with your search but I hope that maybe you can help me. I have an Iyhaca SKB 600 and I can't find anywhere when it was manufactured. Do you have any source of info on dates of manufacture for Ithaca SKB's? The serial number is S5601708.

Thanks, Leo.

Until this very moment I would have sworn on a stack of bibles that my 410 500 was an Ithica. Now I'm forced to reevaluate and come to think of it I'm not entirely sure. The 500 and 600's are available occasionally I've followed several of them on the auction sites. There was a pricey little 600 floating around for quite a while from one of the expensive shotgun sellers out there, can't remember who had it though.

Leo....Wish I could help you...but I don't have any info relating Serial numbers to manufacturing dates.

MjM....Never say never...your 410 bore 500 could have been a separated from one of the 3 barrel sets...but it would have to be a skeet gun (Sk/Sk) with 2 1/2 chambers to be an Ithaca by SKB. According to Sid Cleveland...

It was deffinately bored SK/SK and did not have 3" chambers. I became a believer in the 410 with this choke. Like many others I didn't know a 410 came in anything other than full choke and was not impressed with the 410 at all. A SK/SK bored 410 can kill doves just fine.

In reality how likely is it that someone split up a 20/28/410 set? I'd dare to say "not very". This gun was used when I got it but in darned near brand new condition, it did have a set of barrel weights on it so it deffinately had spent time on the skeet field.
