I didn't grow up with guns and hunting, but now at 38 I'm really starting to get interested. I'm shopping for my first shotgun now.

Just wondering about suggestions about where to shoot in south eastern wisconsin. I actually live a few minutes away from Wern Valley Hunt Club in Waukesha. Is that a good place for a beginner, or is that only for more experienced people?

Also, if anyone needs a shooting partner, let me know.

Russ

In south east Wi you've got a lot of places to shoot clays and you'll find helpful people at all of them.

Wern Valley is a great place as well as Waukesha Gun Club... I would call both and ask if there is someone there who can help a new shooter.... perhaps they offer lessons, etc.

Check out the Wisconsin Sporting Clays Association web site for a listing of clubs in your area. Wisconsin is truly blessed with a ton of great courses!

WGC might be a better place to start because I find their league SC targets slightly easier then Werns because it is flat. Were as Wern has hills, valleys and trees to hid the machine behind. WGC also has trap and skeet to start on ( far easier than SC ) plus range officers on weekends to get the newbie off to the right start.

I know this is an old thread but I am new to the area and looking for people to shoot with. I live in Milwaukee not far from WGC. Let me know if you are in the area and don't mind if someone tags along.
