Here's a Maine fishing story:

Many years ago I was on a Memorial Day canoe trip up in northern Maine. Just below the washed-out dam at the outlet to Munsungan Lake there was a big eddy. We slid the canoe into the eddy and started letting our night crawlers drift down along the edge. After a few casts, I hooked a 2.5 lb. landlocked salmon. A few minutes later, my buddy hooked an equally large brook trout. We didn't get any more hits.

At lunchtime we pulled over to the side of the stream, cleaned the fish, fired up the Coleman stove, and proceeded to cook and eat those fish, while washing them down with cold beer.

Life couldn't have been any better!

Sadly, my canoe partner passed away a couple years ago. However, he left me with many happy memories of our outdoor adventures, including how we ate those two beautiful fish. Thanks Tricky Dicky! (he was lawyer)
