we are looking for a club that has a regular sporting clays league to do one of our scientific studies..... anyone out there know of such....we have conducted several studies in skeet leagues with amazing results one study REDUCED THE NUMBER OF MISSED TARGETS IN A ROUND OF SKEET BY 41%....ANOTHER IMPROVED THE BEST SHOOTERS THROUGH OUT THE 6 WEEK TEST PERIOD....we already know what we are doing works but need to do a test on sporting clays....the problem is that we must have a base line to chart the improvement or lack of....in sporting because of the changing target sets we need shooters who are in the study as well as shooters who are not to be able to take into account course difficulty....lemeno if you know of any clubs that are doing sporting clays league....thanks and will keep you up to date on what we find....

Hey Gil, unfortunately I just saw this as our sporting clays league just finished. We shoot our two courses with one set up pretty stiff and one more corporate. Started at first of January and concluded last Sunday. 48 shooters with 12 teams of 4 each. Shooters classed as A, B, C, D shooters by shoot committee based on known ability and then drawn from hat. Top 3 scores for each team on each course count for league winner. Shooters are allowed to practice the courses as many times as they like before "declaring" their official league round. High score was 93 on stiff course and 99 on softer course with two shooters tying at 189 for total on both courses. We do this every January because that is only month without charity shoots so the 2 courses can stay the same for a full month. We will do it again next January as well. Now we are on to Trap League, then Skeet, then 5 Stand and finishing with our Dove Tower.

We are looking for a larger group of shooters say 100+ and would do a small sample of say 10 to go through the training. The most difficult part of this journey has been to actually get shooters to finish the league and keep doing the training. How many in your Skeet league?

Who pays for the training? Sounds like fun. You say scientific, do you mean more like bucket chemistry science? Where are you publishing the data? Bucket chemistry science or not I love the concept. There is so much raw data available in the registered shooters database it would be rather interesting to setup a study using your volunteer participants comparing them to the whole registered database. Chip......
we have a work site set up to play videos that records how many times you watch and how long you watch the videos.....we also ask that you do two home drills BEFORE you go shoot your targets.....report your score and do this each time you go out and Claymetrics plots the results.....they are what they are....we have done two studies with small groups of skeet shooters....in each study we reduced the number of missed targets by 40% & 41% in a round of skeet in 4-6 weeks........we are doing same in a 5 stand league with 400+ shooters and are about to do one in sporting clays with 5-700 shooters with 50 trained shooters..... we are optimistic about the results.....

we have just done an intervention with a group of 4H coaches and with in 2 weeks the improvement has been dramatic on all shooters who have adapted what they do to the OSP system.....it is dramatic....toward mid to late summer the results will be in and we will see what they are.....we do will not have come in contact with the shooters....and will not have anything to do with the resluts.....that is all Claymetrics....

and yes we will b posting the results here and not he main form.....

if you are in a league let us know and we will set up a study in your league....GA

50-60 shooters in each of our 200 target leagues which are:
Sporting Clays -- January
Trap -- Feb-March
Skeet -- April-May (wrap it around the Krieghoff Masters which is here).

We could easily get 10 of the better skeet shooters (88-95 average) to participate and follow-through. Could also get some of our Junior shooters involved who are primed for the learning curve.

What league is beginning soon? Looks like maybe skeet shooters. You want to talk to a few and see if they are interested? They done have to be the best ones but they can be. As soon as I get your email will send you results of first two studies. Gil@ospschool.com. Send me your contacts and let's talk. Thanks Gil

I ended up missing the email for the 5-Stand trial at WGC for our winter league. I'll be curious to see your results as our league ends in a couple weeks.

Are you offering the same thing for our Sporting Clay league this summer?

When Waukesha is over we are doing sporting clays league with 750 shooters. After that is over we will be considering other studies. Skeet studies showed a 40% reduction in missed tgts in a round of skeet for all shooters who completed the training. Now that's something special.
