Has anyone done enough patterning to determine how Nice Shot performs at different velocities? I like more speed with my duck/goose loads, and am wondering how it does.

It's been my experience that Nice Shot patterns better at lower speeds (1150ish). With higher speeds I had some holes in my pattern and Dan recommended that I slow things down a little. That seemed to eliminate the holes. Oh, and no issues dropping ducks or geese when I hit them. Each gun is a little different though and the patterns certainly weren't horrible at the higher speeds. Good luck!

I wonder why it has to be run so slow to avoid holes in patterns?

I run mine at 1250fps get great patterns and dead in the air birds. No need for higher speed with this stuff.

On tight fixed choke shotguns the shot will bounce off its self at higher velocities. Happends mostly with the BB, #2, and #4. I myself, prefer the 1250 FPS loadings, which kill like lead.

RUn some #5 and #6's through a 16ga, IC and Mod, between 1350-1400fps. 1oz loads and some 7/8 oz loads. Good patterns, pheasants don't like it though.
