Tuolumne County desperately needs a quality Sporting Clays range. It should offer Skeet, Trap, Wobble Trap, 5-stand, Olympic skeet, and of course Bunker Trap and Helice. I mean if you're going to wish for a loaf of bread, you just as soon wish for the grocery store! If someone is brave enough to do this, I promise I will be your BEST customer!

Ok, not quite the right counties, but you are inbetween two clubs. Camanche Hills in Amador County is just to the north and Sun Mountain in Madera County to the South. Both are very nice clubs and not all that far from you.

Been there! Done that! Both of them. Need something closer to home. Could be a great draw for local casinos. Actually Roster Ranch is closer that Sun Mountain but thats still 70 miles away.

Rooster Ranch is a terrific club and truly one of our favorites! They are having a shoot there this weekend to benefit Junior Olypmics. It is a fund raiser, NSCA registered, all scoring will be Lewis Class. Should be a fun shoot!

Sorry there is nothing closer, but you really do have it better than so many in the country that have to travel three or four hours to shoot. We are very lucky here in California, there are many clubs close enough to drive, shoot and still be home at a decent time too.

Well 2010 is coming and still no savior for the Sporting clays shooters of Tuolumne County. The Harvard Mine sight in Jamestown is just sitting there , with a pond, and large enough to support a great Clays range. The County has it since the previous owners abandoned it. I'm just a poor guy looking for a great club close to home. Although I would miss the great people at Camanche Hills.

Here is an up-date. Motherlode gun club on Jamestown road north of Jamestown Ca. shows on its monthly calendar; 5-stand one Saturday a month. I shot it once. Why only once you ask. Well as the club is all volunteer the calender is sometimes not followed.
