I will be coming to Ca (Ranch Santa Margarita) for a visit on March 18th thru the 24th. Is there anyone in Orange Co that would like to shoot a couple of rounds with an old guy from Colorado? I am not familiar with any ranges or gun clubs in the area even though I lived here for over 30 years. Just think it might be fun. Thanks.

The nearest to you I think is Prado Olympic Shooting Park. Not far from RSM and an easy drive.

Directions:

Get on the
241 North (Toll Road)
to
91 East (Riverside Fwy)
to
71 North (Pomona Fwy)
Exit
Butterfield/Euclid
Right turn (onto Euclid)
Left at first left turn pocket

Follow the road, the range is on the right hand side.

Shooting hours:

Closed Mondays
Tues to Thu 8:00am to 8:00pm
Fri, Sat, Sun 8:00am to 5:00pm

Lots of SGW members shoot there. My group shoots on Sat & Sun. Hope to see you there.

I was able to get out there on a Friday. I was not used to the token and voice operation. I guess I do prefer the assisted trap here in Colorado. It is a nice place to shoot, I will agree. It was a little windy and I didn't shoot all that well but was still a good time. I had a range to myself but met and talked to a couple of shooters that came by. One of which we had some mutual acquaintances....small world!!

Next time you come go there is a trap/skeet place in San Clemente. Open on Wednesdays and Sundays only. Also, if you want to drive within 35-40 minutes from there you can come out to Triple B Clays. Lots of Skeet/Trap/Sporting clays/Bunker/doubles/The field and a restaurant on site.

PM me anytime. I live in Foothill Ranch.

croberts...Thanks for the info..although I don't know if I want to drive out again just to take my guns...got caught in the blizzard about 110 miles from home. If I come out again in the near future and fly maybe I could get out there and rent a gun. I'll let you know. My other son lives in Foothills Ranch also so I do know my way around.
