Beethoven's 7th Symphony..... after that his 4th..... you should try him out. Here is a guy who knew as early as age 28 (before he wrote his first symphony) that he was going deaf but he stuck to it. Incredible music anyway you look at it.

I really like this thread (even if very few others did). This morning crossing chores off my list before heading out and I've got my iPod hooked to the home stereo and set on shuffle. Here's what has come up: Better Be Good to Me--Tina Turner You Got To Move--Stones Another Brick in the Wall--Pink Floyd Gold--Emmylou Don't Stay--Linkin Park Here I Am--Mercy Fall Hang Me Up to Dry--Cold War Kids 21 Guns--Green Day Satan's Jewel Crown--Emmylou Harlem Shuffle--Stones
Bit surprised at two repeats Stones and Emmylou in just ten songs, but that's the way they came up. As I type this Dylan is on with If You See Her, Say Hello.

I have been listening to Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of the Nibelung) by Richard Wagner, Phildelphia Philharmonic, Eugene Ormandy conducting.
I like the "Flight of the Valkyrie" and it makes me want to shout, "God, I love the smell of napalm in the morning!"

Finished the Ring and am now listening to J.S. Bach's Requiem. It's been a very "Dark" day.

In her day, Gracie Slick was an amazing voice. I lusted for her. High up on that same list during the same time period was Linda Ronstadt. I loved Joplin's music... but she was just so homely. Cass Elliot sang like an angel, but...
