I've re-discovered Jim Ed Brown and Helen Cornelious. They are right up there with Porter and Dolly, George and Tammy, and Emmyou and John Anderson. :wink:

Back on shuffle mode:

You Don't Get Much--The BoDeans

Free Fallin'--Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

Billy and Bonnie--Steve Earle

Ma Louisianne--Zachary Richard

Legs--ZZ Top

Miles to Memphis--Chris Knight

Good Morning Aztlan--Los Lobos

Follow--Breaking Benjamin

Precious--Annie Lennox

Desolation Row--Dylan
The acoustic guitar duo of Dylan and Mike Bloomfield (lead) on this song is a treasure in American music--or maybe I should just say the song is. Hell, I should just say the album is. We've had a thread or two in here on your list of the Ten Best Albums of all time--lists like that evolve, change over time. Highway 61 Revisited is a constant on my list.

I have no idea why, but this song popped up in the "recommended for you" section of my YouTube page.

I don't even like jazz so I have no clue why this song is recommended for me. Nor am I associated with the topic of this song. :D

That's not Jazz. This is Jazz:

Classic Jazz

A more modern version:

And while we're at it here's some Fusion (Rock and Jazz):

Saturday morning shuffle, cooking breakfast, good coffee, fire in the stove, couple inches of new snow, and as I write this, LeAnn Rimes singing "Faded Love."

My Wife--The Who
It's funny, of all the band members, John Entwhistle was the most obscure. He just stood there quietly playing solid bass while the other 3 went nuts on the stage. But Entwhistle's song is the one I buy on iTunes and I grin every time I hear it.

Hippy, Hippy Shake--Georgia Satellites
I like this band, wish they had been more prolific.

Boulder to Birmingham--Emmylou
Words aren't necessary... it's Emmylou

I'll Be Doggone--Marvin Gaye
I like a lot of Motown. Gaye was killed--by his own father--with a pistol he had given his dad for a gift.

Humanoid--Chevelle
One of the best AltRock bands to come along in the last 5 years.

Nobody in His Right Mind Would've Left Her--George Strait
Not my favorite George Strait, but hey...

More Human than Human--White Zombie
I don't have much from this band, but it's hard not to like this one. Rob Zombie does horror movies now too.

Edge of Seventeen--Stevie Nicks
The guitar that absolutely drives this song is by Waddy Wachtel, who played on most of Warren Zevon's records.

What About Love--Heart
Speaking of being on the "edge of 17" with a crush on a singer...

Learning to Fly--Tom Petty
Just good, clean, unpretentious rock--old reliable

Thanks for posting that ViK. That kind of music just gets your feet tapping. Though, I must admit that I prefer George Benson to the original.

Kids fighting over Christmas toys. Santa must have had to make two trips to deliver all the presents yet the two girls find one toy to fight over.

This one's been quiet for awhile and needs some new life. I spent a few hours working up a new playlist for my iPod that I call Originators. It's about listening to guitar players that inspired others. My guitar work is decidedly amateurish, but I am enjoying the music.

Smokestack Lightnin'--Howlin' Wolf;
Who Do You Love--Bo Diddley;
Swing to Bop--Charlie Christian;
Boogie Chillen--John Lee Hooker;
Mona (I Need You Baby)--Bo Diddley;
I'm in the Mood--John Lee Hooker;
Groovin' High--Charlie Christian;
Going Down--Freddie King;
Sweet Georgia Brown--Django Reinhardt & Staphane Grappelly;
Black Bottom--Robert Ward;
Before You Accuse Me--Bo Diddley;
and thrown in there just for fun... New Boogie Chillen--George Thorogood and the Destroyers
