What about an after market shoppe , if I were to have anything case colored I would look no further than Turnbull manufacturing. I think many would agree they are the absolute best at that craft . I would take my chances with them before I'd pay $1200 for that . Jmho

I'm just going with nickel or possibly the polished blue, haven't quite made my mind up on that one. Will pull the trigger in a few weeks after giving a little more thought. I like blue as well, again polished blue bbl and receiver is roughly another 1K. I'm up to a sizable sum of green-backs and I think I'm going to stay there. If any other additions will have to start taking some things off the plate and that would be the little bit of engraving. The custom stock is there to stay.
Thanks for the input on Turnbull.

I have one Kolar with the polished blue barrel and another with the matte black finish. The polished blue finish is really quite stunning, IMO. The matte black is good looking as well, but a bit more utilitarian than the polished blue.

If you are getting the subgauge tube set, do spring for the extended choke tube option. They stick out about a half inch beyond the end of the barrel. If nothing else, the extended choke tubes make tapping the tubes out with the plastic-faced hammer easy without the driver tool.

Would you happen to know what that option costs?

IIRC correctly, the additional cost for extended chokes for the 3-gauge tube set was about $100.

Thank you. I ended up talking to a dealer this week and was told it's no cost difference between regular and extended sub-gauge tube chokes.
