 Post subject: ammo and firing pins

Hey guys just looking for advice. I am shooting Kent Diamond velocity shells in my pgun. I often hear guys talk about cheddites materials and the worry on the firing pins. Anything I need to worry about hear. Thanks all!!

Yeah, the thing you should "worry about" is putting the muzzle into the proper position before pulling the trigger. :wink: :D

I'm sure that you'll hear different opinions on the issue of primers, but I've never worried about primers damaging my firing pins..... and so far they haven't to any great extent. Besides, firing pins are expendable items although I've put 25K or more rounds of various kinds of ammo through guns without having to replace firing pins.

Just take a good look at your spent hulls. If some of the primers are black they are piercing. Shoot them if you want but the hot gases that are escaping will damage your firing pins.

Friends of mine have found Rio's and Kents are issues in their P andK guns

Hmm, all my friends, and I shoot Rio's and Kents-preferred. We shoot Perazzi's and Krieghoffs.

The 'new style' Perazzi firin pins Don't split like the old ones so nothin yo worry about
