Will, I need a refresher of what was discussed on Sunday while I am loading each shell in the gun. As I remember it's basically a visualization process, right?

John,
Good to hear from you! As we discussed I use the loading of my gun to initiate my pre-shot routine. As I drop the bottom shell in, I very briefly visualize the detail that I will focus on for the first clay, and then as I load the second shell, I visualize the detail on the second clay. I then, at a steady, measured pace, close my gun and address the hold point, move my eyes( if needed, my head) to the area to pick up the first bird, and call pull.

It is VERY important to me, that I remind myself, through visualization, the details on the clays, that I will find on the clays in the kill zone.

Best,

Will

Nice post, I'll implement your routine and share with the wife. What about walking up to the box, anything going on in your head related to a standard routine?

Tankee,
I have a definitive 'Planning Routine' that I am running thru as I get ready for a stand. I covered it in detail in the following thread...

http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=252&t=451602

.....if you have questions regarding the 'Plan' please post them in that thread. Hope this helps!

Best,

Will
