Will, Seeing you have both plus some... my budget is around 8,500 so I’d like to get your feedback on what would you recommend in the two scenarios below for training? A. New claybot 4 and mec 100e thrower. B. 5-6 mec 100e throwers *Already have a lawnmower to pull the traps out of barn. DL

Word has it that Will was recently seen on another thread on SGW
I guess he ran away from home... bummer. Jk.
All joking aside ... just would like to get feedback before next fall when I’ll make the purchase. Also, I’m also looking at Laporte 185 /320 because they can also throw a 110mm and meet the bunker requirements for distance. From what I’m seeing it’s a versital set up for all clay sports on top of a claybot.

Of course, I'm not Will Is this just for personal use? with a few buds? I have the manual ITB and 1 other Trap so I can throw pretty much anything you can think of Use the regular Trap to throw the normal presentations and then the ITB to throw whatever else. I can shoot 360 around any set up I choose so my 2 machines are plenty.

Jerry, thank you ! I’ve been thinking about 2 throwers with ITB bases as well. Who makes your thrower with the carousel ?
This would be for my personal training along with a few buds.

It's an Atlas AT300 and will probably update the Patriot to an Atlas AT150 which are coming out I believe in March. I also have the Long Range wireless voice release set up for them

I have a friend who is a pretty successful SC shooter. He uses a pair of MEC traps that he can set up out back for any presentation he wants to work on and shoot a few after work, or whenever.

Tap/IL- go take a look at https://www.renairshotgunsports.com/pro ... ybot-mkiv/This is a huge step up from having 2 machines. The big difference is time followed by ability to replicate any target. The same company sells a manual base that allows the same thing but not automated. My big question is trying to find out how much people prefer to use Several traps vs 1-2 on claybots. DL

Can you shoot 360 around the Traps when you get them? If so you would have several different types of presentations, make the circle readjust them to something different so whole new course to work around Lots of possibilities just by changing where you stand But your call on how many to get Start with 2 and go from there, you may feel that's plenty

Here's just 1 example that I've used, Trap set to throw a regular ole straight away trap target. Think Clock face looking down That 1 set up can give you a R/L-L/R shallow quartering out move to 3-9 crosser from both ways etc-etc then just move back to increase the yardage and that's just with 1 Trap so IMHO 2 is plenty to start with. Then add some curl in there whole different set of targets. I've set some crazy/fun stuff that in my limited places I've shot have never seen before Think outside the box and have fun And being the Claybot you could just stand in the same place and have lots of options on sets that way.

Sorry guys, I just returned from a week out of the country. Argentina for doves. But honestly, there has been sooo little traffic here, I had quit checking religiously. I will be more mindful. Regarding your question. You really need at least 2 traps. As much as I like the claybot, if buying that restricts you to just one machine, then I would get a couple of machines, and mount them on Renair ITB's. But honestly, get the claybot MK4, and save up for a second machine on an ITB Best, Will
