Hey guys, I’m in the process of changing my 930 for something a little lighter. I have my eyes set on a Remington V3 or a Franchi Affinity. They’re both the same price at my local gun store. Any clear winner between these two? I especially hunt geese and duck, but also use it in spring for turkey, and shoot the occasional clay.

Thank you!

Apples and oranges. Decide if you want gas or inertia and then pick.

Having multiple examples of each, I think so.

Recoil on the Affinity is considerably more than the V3 from my own personal experience. If that matters to you....

I own both the Affinity and the V3. The V3 is so much easier to load, the 20 gauge Affinity is a thumb breaker. Depends what you want to do with either. My two Affinities have been nothing short of reliable. Now my V3 is only a few months old, softer shooter, better trigger and reliable. I know, totally confusing. You can't go wrong with either!

Seven-year warranty on the Franchi, a lifetime on the V3!

I switched from the Mossberg 930 to the Affinity for the same reason. 930 shot great, but too heavy for the pack in hunts I was doing. The Affinity is a better solution for my hunting style, but after 100 shells at clays, I’m sore the next day. I’ve shot the V3, it wasn’t the low recoil wonder I’d read about, nor was the Versamax. The V3/Versamax gave no issues when I shot, just wasn’t compelled to bring them home.

Quality, flip a coin, both good field guns, as always it's all about the fit. Recoil and weight, everyone has a different threshold, I'm a senior and shoot and carry a 12GA Browning BPS, other gun is a Mossberg 835. As a senior just about everything make me sore the next day!

PS....Only real downside about Franchi is the silly recoil pad shape, I'd order a few from the factory to have on hand.

Gas or inertia...........both great guns, which will fit you better.........support from Remington may be faster, JMHO.

Finally shouldered them both, and bought the Affinity 3 because it just handled better in my hands. It does kick a bit more than my mossberg, but the difference is quite small, even with turkey loads.

Thanks for your help!
