We are exploring setting up a league in Central Florida for shooters in the construction industry. Does anyone have any experience in the mechanics of a league setup? Like, how many weeks to shoot per session, what games to shoot? League fees? Any ideas would be very welcome.

Gregg

i have games, we do these with the kids sometimes at the range. (trap) Quail (grouse whatever bird you prefer) Walk- You start from the 27 and move forward or start from station 1 and move to five. once you start walking (with gun loaded) the puller can pull targets at anytime.

Chip Shoot/Anne Oakley-2 people get their guns loaded and ready and the first person calls for the target. If the first person hits it the second person can shoot and if they hit a piece/chip and break it the first person gets a "hickey" and moves to the back of the line once you get 3 "hickeys" your out. We normally use $3 on this $2 goes for target fees while the winner gets $1 from each player.

Eliminator-As many ppl as want get their guns up, The first shooter calls for a target and shoots if he misses the next shooter shoots and so on UNTIL THE TARGET IS BROKEN So if the first shooter shoots and hits it he is the only one that shoots on that target. if someone breaks the target the person in front of them misses the person in front of them gets a "hickey". If more than one person misses it and then someone hits it ALL of hte ppl before teh person that hit it get "hickeys" and have to go to the back of the line. We normally use $3 on this $2 goes for target fees while the winner gets $1 from each player
Fantastic!!
Browning, The Best there is because second best is well...second best.

As for normal fees, we do $2.00 a round (25 trap targets).
Fantastic!!
Browning, The Best there is because second best is well...second best.

In Eliminator, are you allowed to let the bird fly and wait until it is nearly down to shoot at it? This could prevent getting a hickey if you miss, and make it much harder on anybody following your shot.

Just curious. I'm not sure how you would regulate this rule, as in saying, "you waited too long to take your shot". Hmmm.

ya we do but most ppl can't hit it two feet off the ground. and most ppl shoot it as soon as it peaks though there is one guy that does that, and we beat him anyway!
Fantastic!!
Browning, The Best there is because second best is well...second best.

Hello Oleviking,
Welcome to Shotgunworld.com!
I personally don't have any experience at it, but I did find a couple of articles that might help. Try these....
www.nssa-nsca.com/ssr/1200/sisley.htm

showcase.netins.net/web/n...League.htm

home.attbi.com/~mikerambi...drules.pdf

I'm a little confused about whether you want to start a team or a league and what type of clays you would to shoot. Regardless, I think the above links will help. My best advice would be to contact the range where you will be shooting and see if they have any printed material they could mail you. I hope this all helps some.
regards,
Jay Gentry
Shotgunworld.com
Shotgunworld.com
