So, I shoot a Beretta Onyx Pro Sporting.
My usual shells are Winchester AA 1200, 3d, 1 1/8
Today I shot Federal shells that are equal to the AA's. Out of the 100 rounds about 10 had this problem. The top barrel not ejecting the spent shell, was only the top barrel. The bottom did every time.
Would usually take opening and closing the action about 3-6 times to get it to eject.
Never had a problem with this with AA's
Everything was recently cleaned and lubed last night, no issues or problems noted when doing so.
Any ideas what to look for.

Are you sure the Federal hulls were real brass? This is a common problem with mid-levels shells. Often steel hulls stick in various makes of gun even when brass plated. In Yildiz guns polishing the ridge at the opening of the chamber with 800 grit wet and dry sandpaper eliminates the problem. Polishing the whole chamber with 0000 steel wool wet with oil also helps. This probably works in other guns as well.

They're brass plated.

Maybe that's the problem

Most Federal hulls are no longer brass. Possibly the Gold Medal Grand papers still use brass but the plastic Grands are not brass.
