I have been on the hunt for a property to use as a practice field/recreational property for a while now. I may have found one.

Before investing in an expensive trap set up I want to shoot on this property under a lease for a few months to make sure I won't have any issues with the neighbors. (Yes I intend to talk to the neighbors first, invite them to shoot, respect the hours, etc).

Is a Wheelybird 2.0 the best inexpensive option for this purpose? If you have a better idea, please share.

That's my feeling on the matter.

As someone just getting back into the sport, I wanted something for our hunt club that I could shoot by myself during the long offseason. I love it and the remote works great as does the unit itself. I replaced the adjusting bolts with knobs to make it easier to adjust for elevation changes. Very happy so far.

I'm no authority on the subject but I have a Champion "Easy Bird" that has worked well for me for the past 10 yrs. or so. I think I paid about $300 for it. It has a remote trigger, actually 2 of them. One is by cable & the other is electronic, like your electronic car key.

Any advice on voice activated throwers? Looks like I can get a single trap BRB system for a little less than $300. A Long Range system for 1 trap is closer to $400. If I was going to have multiple traps I would like the LR system, but at this point I have already nearly doubled my investment.

Just bought a Champion Workhorse. works great. probably need to buy the remote as well as you can only go about 20' side to side. better be quick, it gets them out there in a hurry.

If the pig tail off the machine uses a regular 3 prong plug you can get some extension cords to add and give you more options on positions.

I have the Wheelie bird 2.0 . I this worked great so far. I have about 700 clays through it. It's nice to have the time delay on the remote when I'm shooting by myself

Unless things improved I would avoid the Do-All products mine were lots of trouble.I moved on with an Atlas and was never sorry,built like a brick outhouse

Champion Wheely Bird for me. I have 2 mounted in houses and use the electronic remote to trigger each trap or both for doubles. Mine have performed flawlessly for years.
