Well--until the NSCA forms a "class" that is dubbed "I can win even though I don't practice" class , if you want to win , you need to go practice.

There are many ways and oneounce's way is one of the better ones.

Good thing it's fun, huh?

The best thing I can hear a trapper says is "I saw a chip off of that!"

@ Mallard, show me your whole card.

If I see a lot of this on your card -- /0 0/ /0 /0 -- then the /'s are mostly going to be chips. If I see more of this on your card -- // // // // -- then there was probably a lot of smoke.

And if you shoot with my squad, you occasionally see something like this on your card: 0/ x/ // // -- guess which was the chip

I mean, I've seen a lot of shooters hit 60 yard crossers - I don't know about the high-end NSCA tournaments and such, but I can't say any of those targets were "dusted" or "smoked".

The more pellets hit a clay the "more it breaks".

The further a clay bird is the harder it is to hit with multiple pellets due to shot entrapy.

This is just speaking from NSCA experience, but TBH in that world there is no difference really between "dusting" and "smoking" targets. A hit is a hit.

Ah just circling back around to this. I suppose if you shoot a 100 and not every target was smoke it’s a REALLY hollow victory for you. Dang who knew.

Actually, in a tournament I will take every chip. BUT , to get better , when you practice , you should seek smoke. That confirms a solid hit. That means your eye is 100% on.

What's wrong w/ that? Jack is a M class shooter, and maybe listening to him will help you ???
