I own a stevens single shot .410 with a 3 inch chamber. I have always hunted with the gun using 3 inch shells in #4. But I have wanted to try and shoot skeet with it and all I could find were 2 1/2 in #8 and #9. Can I shoot these through the 3 inch chamber? Would accuracy be affected.

Thank You!!

Yes you can, with minimal affect in accuracy, if any. My only concern about shooting skeet with it is the choke constriction. If it's Full or Mod., it will be a challenge to break them at such close ranges. Hope this helps and welcome to SGW.

.410 shotguns are usually cylinder or improved cylinder and you can shoot a 2 1/2" shell in a 3" chambered gun with no problem. Your shot pattern will be a little bit lighter due to the lighter load.

Fixed choke .410's are almost always FULL choke with a few mod's here and there.
The Winchester 9410 was one of the few offered with a cylinder choke.
