Gee Markr, you're keen, driving all the way up to Wychie from Melbourne! Donald has a great little club too, in the neighbourhood, if you haven't been there already.

Yeah, it is a bit of a haul, but my wife is from there and I'm just getting back into shooting and know a few of the guys. I'll probably start doing some shooting at the Frankston FGA in the not too distant future.

cheers

Frankston FGA is a damn good club. I started there last year when Cranbourne branch closed it's range. Welcome!

Hi aslackigan,

Are you new to the board or new to the sport?
Mildura is my old home town. If you need any help with shooting in general or contacts in that area, just yell out.
PM me and let me know who you are if you like.

Peter Tobin.

G'day,
I am new to both the Forum and to trap shooting, although I have been a shooter for over 30 years.

Will be going to my first sporting clays shoot at Glenlyon field and game on saturday. Glenlyon is in central Vic near Daylesford which is about one hundred and forty kms from Melbourne. Just in case you don't know.

Loubang,

Glenlyon or Daylesford F&G is one of my favourite shooting grounds. Great little venue, well worth the visit. Always has fantastic targets, I'm sure you'll enjoy your day there. Say g'day to Colin Johns and his Dad Jake for me.

A couple of snaps from a few year ago...

Ok will do, I haven't meet them yet but have talked to Jake on the phone, he seems like a really top bloke, I told him I was new to the game so he said I could go around in his and Colins group and he would teach me a few things. Might get to meet you down there one day justrbloke.

Cheers, Louis

Louis,

Daylesford is not usually an easy course, but the targets are first rate. Jake and Colin are both top blokes, good people. Colin's also a past Australian champion and Australian Team member, but more down to earth guys you couldn't hope to find. You're in very good hands. Have fun.

aim2please, we need as many juniors as we can get to keep the sport alive, welcome. My advice is to take coaching as soon as you can, before you get too many bad habits.

Last week I was at the Skeet Nationals in Wagga Wagga, and met Todd Bender. It was my first time at the nationals, and I did not shoot too well, but it was a great learning experience. There are a lot of very good shooters around in Australia, and it was great to be there with them.

I aim to be at Cecil Park in three weeks time for my first skeet shoot there, prior to last week I had only shot at my own club, but now I am beginning to enjoy meeting people from all over the place.

Have a great life
