I have an 870 wingmaster in 16 ga. that I bought new last year. It has a bit of field wear( small scratch on the receiver) as I did use it to dispatch a few pheasants last year but it is still in great shape. Anyone know what the estimated trade and retail value of this gun would be? I paid $550.

The W means 16 ga. There is a date code on the barrel-left side near the receiver. Or call remington at 800-243-9700. They can date the gun by the serial number.

My general rule of thumb is I won't pay more than 30% off of what I can get the same gun as new. My buddy picked up a 16ga 870 Wingmaster NIB a couple of months ago right around your $550. In my book, that puts your 870 around $400 at best.
