I aquired a 410 single barrel and need a firing pin. I can't find a model number on this gun. The only numbers I can
find is stamped in the receiver and bottom of barrel which are 332C. On the side of the receiver it says
J STEVENS ARMS and on the barrel it says 410 12mm. Any ideas? :?:
Stevens used the name J. Stevens Arms & Tool Company from 1886 to 1916 and Stevens Arms Company from 1916 to 1942.
The numbers you are citing is the serial number of the gun. I suspect the gun is a Stevens Model 106 which was made from 1910 to 1950. Any gun parts supplier like Gun Parts Inc. Popperts Inc or Jack First can supply a replacement firing pin. Any half way qualified gunsmith or machinest can make a replacement from a 1/4 inch piece drill rod in about a half an hour.
The correspondent identified his gun as a single barrel shotgun. A Savage Model 24 is a combination over/under rifle/shotgun in various calibers/gauges such as .22 Long Rifle/20 gauge.
